Cosa c'è nell'eSIM?
Una eSIM è l'acronimo di "embedded SIM", ovvero aSIM integrata nel telefonoal posto del formato tradizionale della solita SIM fisica utilizzata da più di 20 anni nella telefonia.
Nel caso in cui vogliamo attivare il servizio, non ci resta che andare dal nostro operatore e richiederlo e ci fornirà una SIM con un QR serigrafato che avrà tutte le informazioni di cui il nostro telefono ha bisogno per connettersi alla sua rete mobile .
Come si attiva una eSIM su un dispositivo Apple?
Per attivare una eSIM sul tuo iPhone o iPad è molto semplice:

Puoi avere due numeri diversi sullo stesso iPhoneutilizzando la SIM fisica e una eSIM secondaria, ma non puoi avere due numeri attivi contemporaneamente in formato eSIM. Tutti i telefoni ti permetteranno sempre di avere massimo un piano dati mobile attivo in eSIM, poiché il chip può memorizzare solo un singolo piano in formato virtuale.
Devo registrarmi con un operatore per avere una eSIM?
Si, come no. Per utilizzare il servizio di una eSIM è necessario un piano di telefonia mobile. Questo piano può essere sia a contratto che prepagato, ma dipende dall'operatore e non è una caratteristica che normalmente si può scegliere.

È sempre utile conoscere la politica del proprio operatore e sapere se l'attivazione di una eSIM comporta un costo iniziale o un costo mensile per vedere se è l'opzione migliore.
Significa che devo cambiare carta ogni volta che cambio operatore?
SÌ. Sebbene in molti articoli affermino che il vantaggio principale per l'utente è che non è necessario cambiare la SIM quando si cambia operatore, a causa del modo in cui il servizio è attivato in Spagna questa è una bugia.
In Spagna le SIM degli operatori, sia fisiche che virtuali, sono associate ad una HLR (tipo di SIM card, perché non sono tutte uguali. Le card per i duplicati, la portabilità o le nuove immatricolazioni, ad esempio, non hanno lo stesso range) e un ICC (l'identificativo univoco di quella SIM, cioè la numerazione di quella carta). Pertanto, ogni volta che si attiva un servizio in un operatore di telefonia mobile, lo si fa supportando uno specifico HLR e ICC e quando porto il mio numero in formato eSIM da un operatore all'altro,deve cambiare anche la scheda eSIM con il QR serigrafato.
Sono in Erasmus o in viaggio... posso avere una SIM del paese in cui mi trovo e il mio telefono attivo?
Sì, nessun problema.
